Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a powerful corrective treatment that helps address concerns such as acne, pigmentation, texture, and signs of aging. By stimulating collagen production and removing dead/damaged skin cells, chemical peels work to promote healthier, smoother, and more radiant skin. Chemical peels use carefully selected exfoliating acids & corrective ingredients catered to specific skin concerns. Amber utilizes a variety of chemical peels to provide you with a custom, results driven experience that will help you feel more confident in your skin!

Chemical peels work to treat skin concerns such as:

  • pigmentation / acne scars

  • fine lines & wrinkles

  • dullness / uneven skin tone

  • texture

  • redness

  • acne

  • minimize appearance of pores

  • brighten & tighten skin

What is the downtime?

The downtime of a chemical peel is determined by the intensity of the treatment, as well as your skin. Downtime can vary between a couple days of dryness to a week of peeling depending on the treatment you receive. In most cases, be prepared for about a few days to a week of peeling / downtime. If you do not peel a lot, that is okay! Your skin will still experience shedding on a cellular level. You will still see great results! I recommend avoiding sun exposure, heat, intense exercise, saunas, and active ingredients for about 5-7 days. You also MUST be wearing SPF everyday & reapplying. If proper post care is not followed, this can result in further damage, compromised results, & worsening of the skin.

Commonly asked questions

Q: Can I wear makeup after a chemical peel?

A: Amber does not recommend wearing makeup after receiving a peel until your skin has healed. Dirty makeup brushes & heavy makeup can affect the skin’s recovery process. However, mineral based options such as Colorescience is 100% safe to wear post treatment and will positively contribute to your skin’s healing!

Q: Can I pick at the peeling?

A: No! Please do not pick at, rub, or touch the areas of peeling. This will create further irritation and can leave scarring due to forcibly removing the skin. If you have large pieces of flaking, Amber recommends trimming them with sterile / clean cosmetic scissors.

Q: Can I receive dermaplaning in the same appointment as my chemical peel?

A: Yes! This is one of Amber’s favorite forms of combo therapy! Professional dermaplaning helps remove the top layer of dead skin cells & vellus hair, allowing the chemical peel to penetrate better and enhance your results!
